Hosting a Group at Fernwood
What types of groups does Fernwood Hills host?+
Corporate team offsites, leadership retreats, wellness retreats, coaching intensives, faith community gatherings, bridal showers, birthday celebrations, reunions, and creative workshops. Groups of 5–25 guests.
What spaces are available for groups?+
Two bookable spaces: the Farmhouse (1,200 sq ft, full kitchen, fireplace, seats 25) and the Studio Loft (1,120 sq ft open floor, forest windows, piano, up to 25 depending on format). Both include 1 Gbps WiFi, AV setup, and access to 40 acres of forest trails, fire pit, and outdoor meadow.
Can our group stay overnight?+
Sometimes. Overnight stays are separate from event capacity and are capped at 2 overnight guests per booked space. Most larger retreats are day-return format, with overnight stays reserved for hosts, facilitators, or a few guests when available.
Is catering available?+
Yes — Manna by Fernwood Hills provides farm-style, seasonal catering. Family-style shared plates, not formal plated service. Menus are discussed during planning. Outside caterers are also welcome — no exclusivity requirement.
How far is Fernwood Hills from London, Ontario?+
Ten minutes. Located in Komoka, Ontario — 9533 Oxbow Drive. Easy access from Highway 402 and Highway 22.
What's the difference between a retreat and a celebration booking?+
Retreats and offsites have a work, wellness, or mission purpose — they typically need AV, a structured agenda, and a facilitator. Celebrations are personal occasions (birthdays, showers, reunions) focused on gathering friends or family. Both use the same spaces at the same rates.
Can I book Fernwood Hills just for the day?+
Yes. Day-use bookings are available for cabins, the Farmhouse, and Studio Loft by the session, half day, or full day. Small bookings start online; larger or same-day-reviewed bookings may need approval before payment.
What if I need a creative space instead of a retreat?+
Use the Creative Studio path for photography, content, brand sessions, and production work. The Studio Loft is the main creative space, with larger productions handled by inquiry.
