Space Questions

Common Comparisons

Which Fernwood Hills space is best for a therapist or counsellor?
Adler Cabin and Bracken Cabin are purpose-built for 1:1 therapeutic work. Adler is the most secluded — fire pit, no line of sight to other buildings, deep in the forest. Bracken is on a ridge with floor-to-ceiling windows — the deer feeders and natural light are part of the session. Both accommodate 2 people for day use. If you need a washroom steps away, or want kitchen access for a long intensive, the Farmhouse is the better fit.
Which space is best for a photography or commercial shoot?
The Studio Loft. 1,120 sq ft of open floor with NNW-diffused natural light all day — no harsh directional shadows. Outdoor locations include the forest, meadow clearing, ponds, and cabin exteriors. For editorial and commercial photography with up to 5 people, the Studio Loft handles it cleanly. For shoots with larger crews or multi-day productions, see /create.
Which space is best for an overnight cabin stay?
All four spaces are available for overnight stays, each sleeping 2. Adler and Bracken are small, intimate forest cabins — best for couples who want total seclusion. The Studio Loft has 1,120 sq ft, a queen loft bed, gas fireplace, and full kitchen — best for couples who want more space. The Farmhouse has the most square footage, a gas fireplace, full kitchen, and private deck — best for couples who want a spacious, character-filled stay.
Which space is best for a small retreat or workshop?
For groups of up to 20, the Studio Loft is the primary gathering space — open floor, reconfigurable, suited for yoga, somatic practice, facilitation, and circle work. For groups that want indoor-outdoor flow and a kitchen, the Farmhouse works alongside the Studio Loft. Retreats frequently use both spaces together. Contact us to discuss multi-space configurations.
Which space is best for a couples therapy intensive?
The Farmhouse is the strongest fit for couples intensives — multiple rooms, a full kitchen, a gas fireplace, and a long deck facing the meadow. Up to 5 people for day use (therapist + couple + possible observer or note-taker). Adler or Bracken Cabin also work for 1:1 format within a couple (therapist + 1 client at a time).
Which space works for a celebration or gathering?
The Farmhouse seats 14 at the harvest table and up to 25 in mixed indoor-outdoor configuration. The Studio Loft holds up to 20 in open format. For celebrations like bridal showers, baby showers, and birthday gatherings, both spaces are available as day-use venues. See /gather/celebrations for details.
