Studio Loft
Studio Loft.

Who Books the Studio Loft
Photographers
Consistent NNW-diffused light from 9am to sunset — no harsh directionality, no shadows shifting mid-shoot. Portrait, editorial, brand, and commercial. Forty acres of outdoor backdrops: forest, meadow, ponds, cabin structures.
Movement & Yoga
Open floor for yoga, somatic movement, dance, and embodiment practice. Day-use sessions are capped at 5 people — ideal for your practice, a duo, or a small private group. Larger movement workshops use our retreats track.
Facilitators & Coaches
Group workshops and facilitated sessions where a clean, open room with no fixed furniture arrangement works better than a conference room. Up to 5 guests for day use.
Brand & Content Days
Editorial shoots, commercial product photography, and content teams who need a technical studio with a nature backdrop. The NNW light and 1,120 sqft floor make this the working studio on the property — not a lifestyle kitchen.

Common Questions
What does 'NNW diffused light' mean for photography?
The main windows face north-northwest, which means soft, consistent indirect light throughout the day — no harsh directional sun cutting across the floor. It's the light photographers want for product, portrait, and editorial work without having to wait for golden hour.
Is there a minimum number of people?
No — the Studio Loft is frequently booked by a single photographer or solo practitioner. The rate is flat per session, not per person.
Can I move furniture or set up a backdrop?
Yes. The loft has an open floor plan and minimal fixed furniture — it's designed to be reconfigured. Let us know in your notes if you need the space cleared ahead of arrival.
What's the difference between Studio Loft and Farmhouse day use?
The Studio Loft is a working studio — open floor, technical light, no kitchen, built for photography and movement. The Farmhouse is a full house — kitchen, deck, multiple rooms, stone fireplace. For editorial and commercial shoots, the Loft. For facilitated sessions and intensives where people gather around a table or cook together, the Farmhouse.
What are the rates and what's included?
The Studio Loft is $195 for a 3-hour session, $295 for a half day (up to 5 hours), or $495 for a full day (up to 8 hours) — all prices CAD plus HST. The rate includes full use of the 1,120 sq ft space, kitchenette, forest trail access, and parking for 20+ vehicles. Flat fee — not per person.
When is the space available and what is the cancellation policy?
The Studio Loft is available daily from 9am to 5pm. Cancellations more than 48 hours before your session receive a full refund. Within 48 hours, the session fee is non-refundable but can be credited toward a rescheduled date within 90 days.
Can I bring lighting equipment, a crew, or strobes? Is there power?
Yes — the Studio Loft has standard 120V outlets throughout and can handle typical studio lighting setups (LED panels, softboxes, speedlights). For high-draw strobes or cinema rigs, message ahead and we'll confirm capacity. Crew size for day use is capped at 5 people. Commercial shoots with larger crews use the /create booking track.
